Worker Leaders

A leadership development program for workers wishing to be leaders in the domestic workers movement

Marina M.

Coordinator: Food Program

Marina lives in East Boston. She is the mother of two children. She attends mutual aid food distribution every Saturday.

We are here to fight together and see the Massachusetts Coalition of Domestic Workers grow power. We are a very strong group.

Jenny C.

coordinator: Know your rights courses

Jenny lives in the city of Cambridge. She has three children: Jeremy, Christopher and Erik. She is active with the Massachusetts Coalition of Domestic Workers.

My vision as a domestic worker is for all women who do such decent work to know our duties and our rights. And my Mission is to reach the 50,000 domestic workers who are in Massachusetts who are not aware of their rights as domestic workers. I promise to keep fighting and raising my voice as long as I live. The fight continues.

Diana C.

Coordinator: Open Meetings

Diana is the mother of 2 beautiful children: Stephen and Valery. She lives in East Boston.

My vision as a domestic worker is that we all know our rights, that we are essential workers. We are here to raise our voices, and I am so glad to be a part of this great Massachusetts class of domestic workers.

Worker Leader Alumni

MAYRA MOLINA

Mayra has three children and is a grandmother of four beautiful grandchildren. She believes domestic workers can't stay silent. “We need to speak up because we are all equal.” She loves community organizing, and connecting with people in social media, so people feel that they can be heard, and they are not alone. She also loves cleaning: “I do it with love.” She looks forward to contribute to raise domestic workers’ salaries and help to change peoples' perception of domestic workers. “We are all equal.”

Irma B.

Irma lives in Chelsea and is happy to be the mother of two daughters, Jessica and Jennifer. “I belong to the profession of women domestic workers. My vision is to invite more women to join this group and know their rights too as we need that support of equality, understanding and love.”
