​​It's important that you have your employer review your work regularly -- after you've worked with that employer for 3 months, and then every year after that.

This performance review is a good opportunity for you to have written proof of how your employer is evaluating your work. If you do not agree with something your employer writes on the review, you can ask them to replace it with something that both of you agree to.

If you cannot come to an agreement, you can write a letter addressed to your employer that explains your point of view.
